A new ownership team led by Derek Jeter as CEO would help to repair the horrifically damaged relationship between the team, fans and city.
Those hopes were immediately dashed. Some due to elements out of their control, some deliberate. The Marlins are facing the ire of the league and their fanbase yet again. The fourth fire-sale in twenty years is underway. Now the question isn’t will they be good in the future, but will they ever recover from the damage?
