Gregor Townsend will have to do without vice-captain Sione Tuipolutu against Italy on Saturday after the inside-centre dropped out of the Scotland Six Nations squad to face the Azzurri.
Glasgow man Tuipolutu, 27, is central to Scotland’s attack and has impressed in the Six Nations so far, linking up well with his regular midfield partner Huw Jones and co-captain Finn Russell at fly-half.

Tuipolutu is one of three players out of the squad for the trip to Rome along side Alex Craig and WP Nel.
Javan Sebastian, Rory Sutherland, Marshall Sykes and Jamie Dobie have been called up.
