Farwell’s Cooper Nichols had the top finish in the Amarillo area after placing fourth overall at the UIL Class 2A state golf tournament on Tuesday at Lion’s Municipal Golf Course in Austin.

Nichols fired a two-day score of 146, which included a 74 on Monday and a 72 on the final day of the tournament.

The Tascosa boys golf team (Brady Holmes, Joseph Bybee, Grant Young, Slayde Stevens, Derek Darnell) finished eighth overall at the UIL Class 5A state tournament on Tuesday at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown.

Darnell shot a two-day score of 147, which included a 73 on Monday to lead the Rebels.

Pampa’s Sawyer Burleson carded a two-day score of 148 in the Class 4A tournament after firing a 72 and 76.

In Class 3A, Bushland’s Jenner King carded a 158 after firing a 79 on both days of the state tournament at Grey Rock Golf Club in Austin.

In Class 2A, Sanford-Fritch’s Danner Price finished in the top ten after turning in a two-day score of 149, which included a 72 and 77.
