This of course has fantasy implications for those of you who play and implications for San Francisco. When healthy, Mitchell is one of the backup running backs in the game and forms a really good backfield duo alongside Christian McCaffrey.

Elijah Mitchell highlights: Over his first two years: 11 games as a rookie, 5 games in year two. That translates to a full season and the numbers are really solid: 252 carries, 1,242 yards, 4.9 YPC, 7 TD. He’s just always injured. Knee problems, concussion, hand / wrist area, adductor. Why does he always get hurt? He’s an upright runner.

His adductor injury has lingered. That has kept him out of practice week one. Not ideal given his injury history.

John Lynch Interview on George Kittle:
I think there’s always concern when something persists, and this has kind of lingered. George usually has about one of these things a year, and then once he gets through it, he’s good. And so, knock on wood that’s the case.
