Los Angeles Angels Reid Detmers: Secret Ace? Arte Moreno Speaks: Our RESPONSE! Spring Training Notes

The Los Angeles Angels are gearing up for the 2023 season, and we witnessed some great baseball being played this weekend, including an impressive outing from Reid Detmers! He got to match up against the legendary Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers, and as he did so, he hit 96 and 97 on his fastball. He’s looked good so far in Spring Training, and we’re asking: is he a secret ace of this Halos pitching rotation? We’re also checking in with other Angels who’ve impressed, such as Taylor Ward and Kevin Padlo, the latter of whom could provide some much-needed depth for the Angels. His velocity was up from his last appearance in 2021, and he’s making a case for himself to be part of this team in 2023. We’ll also discuss Phil Nevin’s comments about Brett Phillips and his place on the team as the 4th outfielder. Will Mickey Moniak or Jo Adell earn the position instead? Plus, Arte Moreno’s interview with Tom Verducci was released this weekend, and while not *all* questions Angel fans would like to know were answered, there were still some eye-opening comments made, including interest in Trey Turner!
