Kalen DeBoer is continuing the tradition of Alabama coaches who have come before him. The first-year coach added 5-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham to his Class of 2025.

DeBoer has been busy on the recruiting trail. Cunningham is his 13th signee since June 1. Overall, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Cunningham became Alabama’s 21st commitment in the 2025 class.

So, what made the wideout so appealing to Alabama?

As a junior in the fall at Choctaw County High School (Miss.), he set school records with 48 catches from 1,138 yards and 14 touchdowns. Cunningham competes in track and field as well, and was named the All-Area High School Basketball Player of the Year as a junior.

247Sports explained his gifts:

Unstoppable in red-zone situations. Strong-handed in traffic. Runs hard in run-after-catch situations and bowls his way through arm tackles. Long-striding gait that creates necessity for build-up speed. Natural route sense and spatial awareness. Question the top-end athlete from speed and lateral perspectives relative to others in the class, though athletic profile is admittedly excellent with the hoops context. Projects as a high-major impact player with a long-term ceiling that could lead to NFL Draft consideration.

Cunningham had plenty of top-tier programs vying for his services in the years ahead, including SEC powers Florida, Tennessee, and Auburn.
