On the field, Week 11 wasn’t one for the Bears to be proud of. Off the field, Chicago just keeps moving up.

The Bears not only remained in position for the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft with the Panthers suffering their ninth loss of the season, but Chicago’s collapse against the Lions moved the franchise’s second first-round pick up to No. 4.

Many of the league’s contenders for the top pick held strong with a loss on Sunday, but the Giants bucked the trend and upset the Commanders on the road for their third win of the season. The Giants’ win was a small victory for the Cardinals and Patriots in addition to the Bears, keeping Arizona and New England in strong position for a top-five pick.

As playoff races begin to take shape, all of the teams near the top of the projected draft order are beginning to focus on their future. Landing a premier pick certainly makes the future look brighter.

After Sunday’s early slate of games, the Panthers have the highest odds of drafting at the top of the draft, per Sporting News’ model at 49 percent (thought their first-round pick belongs to the Bears), while the Cardinals are in second at 20 percent. The Patriots are third at 18 percent and the Giants sit at 8 percent. The Bears have a 2 percent chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick with their own selection.

Here’s an updated look at the 2024 NFL Draft order as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches.

NFL Draft 2024 top prospects

For teams in need of a quarterback, the 2024 NFL Draft will have a few. USC’s Caleb Williams and North Carolina’s Drake Maye are the consensus top options, with Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. among other potential first-round prospects.

The wide receiver position is also loaded, led by Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. Florida State’s Keon Coleman and Washington’s Rome Odunze are also among the top pass-catchers.

The 2024 class is strong at offensive tackle, with Penn State’s Olu Fashanu and Notre Dame’s Joe Alt both projected as top-10 picks, while Alabama standouts Kool-Aid McKinstry and Dallas Turner are among the top defensive prospects.

With quarterback needs throughout the NFL, it’s clear that Williams and Maye will command much of the attention as the draft approaches.
