This was the strangest and most awkward media day in NBA history.
Tension was so high for many teams, and we got a ton of interesting responses from players that we need to discuss.
Things got wild so buckle up for this one. What up everybody, my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it.
Starting off with Brooklyn where instead of expectations and hopes for one of the most stacked teams in the league, the players and the coach had this bizarre backtrack to the offseason.
KD then needed to explain himself why he wanted out of Brooklyn.
And finally Steve Nash was asked how he felt knowing that Durant literally wanted him fired.
All things seem to point in a good direction however, at least for now. Everyone says that they’ve cleared the air, so we’ll see how things go for them once the season begins.
If you thought that the Nets had some tough questions to answer, how about the Boston Celtics.
Now this was a really strange media day for them. All of the players were confused and caught by surprise by the Ime Udoka scandal, and they were being careful with their answers not to say anything wrong, while still trying to give their impressions of the entire situation.
And no, that was not the worst atmosphere of the day. In Phoenix things were so bad, that reporters compared the press conference to a funeral.
Every player had to give his take on the Robert Sarver situation which similar to the Celtics, it’s an extremely touchy topic, so the answers were cautious and bland, but on top of that, the latest news right before training camp is that Jae Crowder will not be with the team as they look for a trade for him.
The Suns reportedly will give the starting lineup spot to Cam Johnson so Crowder was disappointed by that and wants out of Phoenix.
Then of course, we gotta talk about the Lakers. Russell Westbrook was straight up asked how he feels knowing that the Lakers don’t even want him there. And honestly he handled that like a champ. Take a look.
Another guy that handled things like a champ was Pat Bev joking about how he and Russ squashed their beef.
The real answer to this question is really wholesome and it’s definitely my favorite thing out of media day.
But it wasn’t all drama, and there were a lot of funny moments as is always the case with media day, so here are a few of them with no comment.
Finally, things are ramping up, and there’s more NBA content. Hey btw I’m really close to 600k subs. So help ya boi out and click subscribe if you haven’t. Talk to you in the next one. Peace out.
