The NBA Draft is approaching but the OKC Thunder are the NBA’s next dynasty and they have already built one of the best young rosters in the league. Sam Presti has already done a great job in terms of the Thunder’s rebuild. OKC has already made the play-in tournament and the team has produced an All-star in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a rookie of the year contender in Jalen Williams, as well as promising players such as Josh Giddey, Lu Dort, and Aleksej Pokusevski. But their Unicorn big man in 7 foot Chet Holmgren hasn’t even played yet. The NBA has been talking about Victor Wembanyama and how the Spurs are about to land a generational big man but the OKC Thunder already have one in their roster in Chet Holmgren, who they drafted 2nd overall last season.

The Thunder are still expected to pursue a complementary piece with their 12th overall pick in the draft to play alongside Shai, Giddey, Jdub, Dort, Poku, and Dieng. They could land someone like Jarace Walker, Taylor Hendricks, Bilal Coulibaly, Anthony Black, or Cason Wallace. But Chet Holmgren already brings a steady two-way presence for the Thunder and he could actually rival Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, or Amen Thompson for the Rookie of the year award. In this video, let’s look into Chet Holmgren and how he would impact this young Oklahoma City Thunder team.
