Today has been pretty eventful for the Arizona Cardinals, as they ended up releasing Jordan Hicks, coming to an agreement on a pay cut with Devon Kennard, while also placing tenders on Antoine Wesley and Jonathan Ward. So first off, cutting Jordan Hicks isn’t very surprising, because after the Cardinals drafted Zaven Collins, Jordan Hicks time in Arizona was bound to come to an end, and I’m honestly surprised he was on the roster last year. Jordan was one of our best defensive players last year, so I’m glad he stayed, but now it’s time to see what Zaven Collins can do. And when it comes to Devon Kennard, I thought he was just gonna get cut, but instead, the Cardinals and Kennard agreed on a pay cut, and I love this move! I like Kennard, but he wasn’t worth the contract we signed him to back in 201, but obviously he wants to remain in Arizona, otherwise this move wouldn’t have been made. The Cardinals have made two steps in the right direction when it comes to freeing up cap, because with these two moves alone, we freed up around $12-12.5 million. Obviously we still have a couple more moves that need to be made, like restructuring Deandre Hopkins contract, cutting Jordan Philips after June 1st, and potentially extending Kyler Murray! We’re in a really good position right now, and I wish Jordan Hicks the best of luck in free agency!
