In its first FIBA Basketball World Cup game, Team USA showed that its biggest advantage isn’t star power, but rather depth at multiple positions.

The Americans defeated New Zealand on Saturday largely because their second unit powered them to victory. Rookie of the Year award winner Paolo Banchero finished with a game-high 21 points, and Tyrese Haliburton and Austin Reaves combined to contribute 22 points and nine assists.

Team USA will look to build off that win when it faces Greece on Monday. Can the Americans’ balanced attack move them to 2-0 in the group stage?

Turnovers have been an issue for Team USA again, racking up four in the opening frame. Tidying that up will be important for the rest of this game and tournament.
