Sacramento Republic FC is a USL team that started play in 2014. Fans, players, and success all flocked to that team. They won the championship there very first year, and were having packed crowds. The MLS took note and it didn’t take too much time for Don Garber and his staff to award Sacramento an MLS expansion team. Recently, this team has been put in jeopardy, Ron Burkle backed out of the plan and a day later the president stepped down. The future of Sacramaento isn’t looking too bright.
