Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna has agreed on a three-year, $24 million deal to remain in Kansas City, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press on Friday.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the deal is pending a physical. Danna’s deal was first reported by NFL Network.

Danna, 26, had the most productive season of his career in 2023, starting 16 games and setting career highs with 50 tackles and 6.5 sacks. He also started all four of the Chiefs’ postseason games, including the 25-22 overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.

He was 80th in the league among defensive linemen in pass rush win rate at 5.5%.

Danna joined the Chiefs in 2020 as a fifth-round draft pick. He played in 59 games with 23 starts. He has 128 tackles, 17 sacks and four forced fumbles.

ESPN’s Adam Teicher and The Associated Press contributed to this report.
