No one else comes close to Jon Rahm’s odds to win the Famers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
The defending U.S. Open winner at Torrey Pines is +700 at BetMGM to be crowned the champion of the Farmers on Saturday. The tournament starts Wednesday and ends a day earlier than normal to avoid going head-to-head with the NFL’s championship games.
Rahm is getting 5.3% of the bets and those bets make up over 20% of the handle wagered on the tournament winner. Rahm is at +150 to finish in the top five and at -145 to finish in the top 10. No other golfer has better than +140 odds to finish in the top 10.
Justin Thomas is the No. 2 favorite and his odds are double Rahm’s at +1400. The Farmers is Thomas’ first event since he played in the 2022 kickoff Sentry Tournament of Champions. Thomas got off to a slow start at Kapalua before he rebounded over the final three rounds to finish at 25-under.
Hideki Matsuyama and Xander Schauffele are at +1800 ahead of Bryson DeChambeau at +2000. Matsuyama won the Sony Open two weeks ago and is +180 to finish in the top 10. Schauffele, the Olympic gold medalist, is at +160 to score a top 10.
No other player outside of Rahm is getting more than 9% of the handle. The golfer with the second-most money is Tony Finau at +2500. Just over 5% of the bets are on Finau and 8.6% of the handle is on Finau to win the tournament.
The most popular bet in terms of ticket numbers is Will Zalatoris after his T6 at the AmEx. Zalatoris shot a 61 in the second round and ended the tournament with a 67 to finish a stroke outside of the top five. Zalatoris is getting just under 6% of tickets and those bets equate to 6% of the handle.
Other notable golfers in the tournament include Brooks Koepka (+3300), Jordan Spieth (+4000), Dustin Johnson (+2200), Sam Burns (+2500), and defending Farmers Insurance Open winner Patrick Reed (+4000).
