Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa are aiming to return to action in Juventus’ next UEFA Champions League clash with Benfica on 25 October.

Pogba has missed every game this season thus far due to a knee injury which required surgery, while Chiesa has been out for the majority of the year having suffered a cruciate ligament rupture way back in January during Juve’s dramatic 4-3 win over AS Roma at Stadio Olimpico.

Without their two most talented players, Juventus have endured a fairly disastrous start to both their domestic and continental campaigns. La Vecchia Signora have won just two games in all competitions, losing both of their first two UEFA Champions League fixtures to PSG and Benfica.

According to Tuttosport, the next game Juve play against the latter is when fans can expect Chiesa and Pogba to return.

The timeline falls in line with what has been expected for Chiesa, as the club expected him to return prior to the FIFA World Cup. Pogba, on the other hand, was expected by manager Max Allegri to return to action after the FIFA World Cup, previously stating: “We will realistically get him back in January.”

Juve’s next game is at home to Bologna on 2 October.
