LSU’s pro day, set for Wednesday in Baton Rouge, marks the first chance for NFL scouts to see quarterback Jayden Daniels in his element since the conclusion of the 2023 NCAA season.

The Tigers quarterback is almost certainly going to hear his name called within the first 10 picks at the 2024 NFL Draft, and he is widely projected to go as high as No. 2.

The 2023 Heisman Trophy recipient is coming off a stellar season for LSU. Daniels threw for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Daniels’ 208 passer rating ranked first in the country last season, and it was not particularly close. He also ran for an additional 1,134 yards on the ground and found the end zone 10 times with his legs, giving him a total of 50 TDs on the season.

Daniels’ focus now is on the NFL. The 23-year-old quarterback did not throw at the NFL Combine earlier this month in Indianapolis, but he is participating at LSU’s pro day. Daniels will be alongside other LSU draft-eligible standouts, such as top-10 candidate Malik Nabers.

The Sporting News is tracking Daniels’ performance at his pro day Wednesday.

(All times Eastern)

12:42 p.m. — Daniels may not be participating in any athletic testing drills, but his teammate Malik Nabers did. The projected top-10 pick blazed a 4.35-second 40-yard dash, which could help him draw closer to Marvin Harrison Jr. in the battle to be the first receiver selected in the 2024 NFL Draft.

11:45 a.m. — Daniels is scheduled to meet with six teams after his workout, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. They are the Patriots, Commanders, Giants, Vikings, Broncos and Raiders.

10:38 a.m. — Those hoping to see Daniels perform other drills at LSU’s pro day will be a bit disappointed. He is focusing entirely on his throwing session, per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network.

10:30 a.m. — While LSU’s pro day officially started at 10 a.m. ET, Daniels isn’t expected to throw until later in the session. NFL+ plans to air his throwing session live beginning at 1:50 p.m.

Will Jayden Daniels throw at the LSU pro day?

Daniels will be throwing at LSU’s pro day Wednesday.

The Tigers QB previously declined to participate in passing workouts at the NFL Combine, opting to instead save his arm and show it off during his school’s pro day.

At the time of the NFL Combine, Daniels said that his decision to wait to the pro day was more about his teammates than him.

“They’ve worked so hard to get their opportunity in front of everybody and go out there and showcase what they can do,” Daniels said of throwing at LSU’s pro day instead of the Combine. “It wasn’t about me, it was about my teammates.”

Jayden Daniels NFL Draft projection

Daniels is projected to be a top-five pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. The LSU QB is expected to be one of the top candidates to be taken second off the board behind USC’s Caleb Williams.

The Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer has the Patriots selecting Daniels at No. 3 in his latest mock draft, but he has Daniels ranked as the No. 9 prospect on his latest big board

“The reigning Heisman winner exploded as a dual-threat star with elite athleticism and big-play passing flair,” Iyer wrote. “Daniels still needs a little time to improve his zip and accuracy, but his natural skills give him great upside. He can become what Lamar Jackson is in the new Ravens offense.”
