The Philadelphia 76ers have been the epitome of disappointing ever since acquiring Joel Embiid in 2014. As the Sixers have yet to make it past the second round in the Embiid era. The closest they came was in 2019 with Jimmy Butler, unfortunately for them, Kawhi Leonard happened. Jimmy then left the following offseason due to on court issues with Ben Simmons. Fast-forward to 2021 and Philly looks pretty stupid for keeping Ben and Tobias Harris over Jimmy as Ben flamed out against the Atlanta Hawks. Then, after holding out for almost half a season, Philly flipped Simmons in exchange for James Harden, who was supposed to be Joel Embiid’s best teammate ever… that didn’t come to fruition. As like Simmons, Harden flamed out against the Miami Heat in the 2022 playoffs. Taking only 2 shots in the second half of a closeout game. So going into the 2022-23 NBA season it makes sense to have the Sixers slated with the 7th best odds to take home a title. But, what if I told you the oddsmakers were wrong…and the Sixers were finally ready to breakthrough as Champions in 2023!
