With big 5th and 6th innings, the Chicago White Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers 9-5 at Comerica Park on June 13, 2022.

The White Sox bats were alive from the first inning. José Abreu lead off the scoring party slamming a two-run homer in the top of the first inning.

Detroit answered back by scoring in the bottom half of the first inning and again in the bottom of the second, giving the Tigers a 3-2 lead.

Starting Pitcher Lance Lynn held the Tigers to a one-run lead in the 3rd and 4th inning.

The 5th and 6th inning solidified a win for the Sox. Reese McGuire doubled to start the top of the 5th. Danny Mendick then singled, sending Reese McGuire in to score. Later in the inning, Luis Robert knocked Danny Mendick home, putting the White Sox in the lead.

In the top of the sixth inning, Yoán Moncada and Leury García both singled to put two men on base. A sacrifice bunt by Reese McGuire scored both Yoán Moncada and Leury García. Reese McGuire made it on base on a throwing error made by Tigers pitcher Andrew Chain. Reese McGuire then scored on a single hit to left field by Andrew Vaughn.

José Abreu finished off his 3-for-4 night with another two-run homer, scoring teammate Luis Robert and giving the White Sox two insurance runs.

Kendall Graveman closed the game for the White Sox with 2 strikeouts over 1.0 innings pitched, securing another White Sox win.
