Udonis Haslem had yet to play in his 18th NBA season before Thursday night when the Heat big man was finally able to get on the floor to face the 76ers.
It was a historic moment for Haslem, who became the oldest player to play for the Heat.
The 40-year-old didn’t last long, however. He played only three minutes before he was ejected following an altercation with 76ers center Dwight Howard.
Per ESPN, Haslem became the oldest NBA player to be ejected in the last 20 seasons.

After Howard threw Haslem to the ground fighting for a rebound, the two exchanged words at the next stoppage. They got in each other’s faces and were assessed a double technical foul before Haslem hit Howard in the face with an open hand. That was enough to earn Haslem a second technical and knock him out of the game.

Haslem finished the game with four points, a rebound and the two technicals in his three minutes. That’s probably not how he wanted his first action of the season to end, but on the bright side, at least his per-36-minute numbers for the season are looking pretty good. The Miami captain is averaging 48 points and 12 boards per 36 on perfect shooting.
And, technically speaking, 24 technical fouls per 36 minutes as well.
