It was a rough week for Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker. Not only did he have his worst performance of the season in a loss to SEC East rival Georgia, but that poor showing has knocked him out of the No. 1 spot in this week’s QB Power Rankings. It’s also left the race for the Heisman Trophy wide open.

Hooker surpassed Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud in the Heisman odds after Tennessee’s victory over Alabama on Oct. 15, but a big win giveth and a big loss taketh away. Stroud is now the betting favorite again despite having his worst performance of the season Saturday as well (we’ll touch on that a little bit later). That means everything every Heisman hopeful has done up until this point is now null and void.

The final weeks of the regular season will determine who wins the award. Get hot now or forever hold your peace. That’s not how it should go, but it’s how it will go.
