Brooks Koepka has pulled out of the AT&T Byron Nelson.

Koepka withdrew from the Dallas-area tournament on Wednesday, though the PGA Tour didn’t cite a reason for his departure.

The tournament is the last one before the PGA Championship next week at Southern Hills Country Club in Oklahoma. He will be replaced in the field by Satoshi Kodaira.

Koepka hasn’t played since The Masters last month, where he missed the cut after posting back-to-back 75s at Augusta National. It marked the fourth time he’s missed the cut this calendar year, and the third time in six starts.

The 32-year-old battled numerous injuries in recent years with his knee, hip and neck. He said in February, though, that he’s “pretty damn healthy.”

Koepka hasn’t won since last season’s WM Phoenix Open, which marked his eighth win on Tour. He has only two top-10 finishes so far this season — a T3 finish at the WM Phoenix Open and a T5 finish at the World Golf championships-Dell Technologies Match Play — and has fallen to No. 16 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Koepka called that slide embarrassing earlier this year when he was down at No. 20, his lowest ranking since 2017.

While it’s unclear why he’s not competing this week, it’s not a good sign headed into the second major of the year.
