The remarkable creative stretch being enjoyed by Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has come to the fore once again, on the back of the club’s meeting with Leeds.
Spoils shared
Solskjaer and co. were of course back in Premier League action a little over 24 hours ago.
The Red Devils made the trip to Elland Road, hopeful of making it two wins from two against Leeds, after thumping their long-time rivals by six goals to two at Old Trafford back in December.
When all was said and done on Sunday, however, a significantly improved Whites backline stood tall, to eventually secure a share of the spoils.
In a game of few chances, Helder Costa and Marcus Rashford came closest to opening the scoring at either end, en route to an eventual 0-0 stalemate.

Shaw dazzling
In turn, should Manchester United fall to defeat at home to Liverpool next weekend, neighbours City could be officially crowned as Premier League champions once again.
As outlined above, though, on an otherwise disappointing evening for the Reds on Sunday, one member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad continued to shine bright.
The player in question? Luke Shaw.
Left-back Shaw has of course enjoyed what many would argue has been his finest campaign in a United shirt thus far in 2020/21, finally showcasing the kind of consistent defensive solidity which earned him a move to Old Trafford all the way back in 2014.
Perhaps even more impressive than his contributions on the defensive side of the ball, though, have been Shaw’s exploits going forward.
The 25-year-old has found his attacking touch once more, acting as a crucial outlet down the Manchester giants’ left flank. All told, Shaw has notched a goal and six assists across all competitions.
Such numbers, though, do not truly do the former Southampton man justice.
As revealed by statisticians OptaJoe, remarkably, after accruing a further eleven over his last two appearances alone, Shaw has now created more chances than any other player in the Premier League since the turn of the year:
50 – @ManUtd‘s Luke Shaw has created 11 chances in his last two @premierleague games; in 2021, he has created more chances than any other player in the division (50). Progressive. pic.twitter.com/9Tj0A55gYh
