They say there’s no offseason in the NFL, and based on how much activity we’ve seen before the actual start of free agency, that statement is accurate. The action really picked up when free agency kicked off Monday, at least the negotiation period for teams and players. Signings became official at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 15, the start of the new league year. Heading into the 2023 season, there are many big-name players to watch as they decide their next moves as teams also work to improve their rosters … or trim salary to get under the cap. 

One of the biggest questions heading into the 2023 season was answered on Wednesday, at least it was sort of answered, when Aaron Rodgers said his “intention” is to play for the New York Jets. The trade has not been finalized. 

Another major question is where Lamar Jackson will end up. Jackson received a non-exclusive franchise tag from the Baltimore Ravens, meaning he can negotiate with other teams interested in the star quarterback, but the Ravens can match any offer.
