After we finish Round 2 of the BNMW Championship on Saturday after play was suspended Friday we will be down to just six full rounds remaining before the end of the  the 2020-21 PGA Tour season. This week’s BMW Championship marks the second event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, and for the first time in nearly six decades, the PGA Tour is heading back to the Baltimore area at Caves Valley Golf Club.

Before darkness fell, Bryson DeChambeau had to settle for a career-best 60 after flirting with a 59 and held a one-shot lead over Jon Rahm, who was still on the course, and Patrick Cantlay.

Caves Valley features well on television, and any time you have have 70 of the best players in the world teeing it up, you’re going to get a great leaderboard. Throw in some mega-gettable holes early on this course, and there’s plenty to watch for on the course. There’s also plenty to watch for off of it with FedEx Cup standings shifting around and Ryder Cup points being finalized.

Rahm comes in as the preeminent storyline as he’s been (by far) the best player in the world for several months now and narrowly missed out on a playoff last week at The Northern Trust. He’s the heavy favorite, and he should be, especially after holding a three-way co-lead through 18 holes.

But Rahm is not the FedEx Cup points leader. That would be Tony Finau, who bested Rahm and everyone else last week in the first round of these playoffs. Whether he can maintain that lead and start the Tour Championship at 10 under next week is another big narrative as the golf unfolds this week.

There will be several more that emerge as this no-cut event wears on, and you can follow them all throughout the week both at CBS Sports and on myriad media platforms over all four days.
