Patchy Mix has a new fight night foe for Bellator 258.

A former Bellator bantamweight title challenger, Mix (13-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) now meets UFC alumnus Albert Morales (10-6-1 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) in a 135-pound preliminary card bout May 7 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card airs on Showtime after prelims on MMA Junkie.

A Bellator official informed MMA Junkie of the new matchup Thursday.

Mix’s original opponent, rising Irish star James Gallagher, withdrew due to an injury in mid-April. Their rivalry has not subsided since the cancellation. The two fighters have since exchanged verbal barbs on Instagram with both of them expressing interest in a future rebooking.

Mix, 27, is unblemished in his professional career outside of a competitive decision loss to champion Juan Archuleta in his most recent outing. In 14 pro fights, Mix has 11 finish victories including 10 submissions.

Morales has not competed in Bellator since his second professional fight. From 2016-2018, Morales competed in the UFC seven times. In his most recent four fights, Morales has gone 3-1 with three finishes.
