Time is starting to run out and the 2024 Major League Baseball trade deadline almost is here.

Somehow the trade deadline is under two weeks away now and the Atlanta Braves likely are very busy right now as they attempt to get their plans in order. Atlanta is in a good spot and currently holds the top National League Wild Card spot.

Atlanta has been able to stay above water despite some difficult injuries and still are considered World Series contenders. Landing another starting pitcher would help make this more of a reality.

A handful of players have been mentioned in trade rumors and one who should be considered by the Braves is Chicago White Sox hurler Erick Fedde.

Fedde is having the best year of his big league career so far and was mentioned by MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand as one of the “trade targets to watch.”

“Fedde put together a solid first half after returning from a year playing in Korea, posting a 2.99 ERA in 19 starts (111 1/3 innings),” Feinsand said. “The 31-year-old signed a two-year, $15 million deal with the White Sox, who are expected to be big sellers prior to the Deadline. Chicago could hold on to Fedde and shop him again in the offseason, but given the thin starting pitching market, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a contender make a move for the righty.”

Atlanta needs another starter and Fedde certainly could be that guy down the stretch and in 2025 at a cheap cost.
