What to Know

The Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma State Cowboys are set to square off in a Big 12 battle at 12:00 p.m. ET on December 2nd at AT&T Stadium. Texas is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.

Texas stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They steamrolled past Texas Tech 57-7 at home.

Texas can attribute much of their success to Jaydon Blue, who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Blue was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Quintrevion Wisner, who rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Texas, adding 27 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Bert Auburn: he added 15 points with five field goals, and another six kicking extra points. This make is four perfect games in a row for he. One of the most memorable scores? A zero-yard kickoff return for a touchdown from Keilan Robinson in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma State has more to be thankful for after their game against BYU on Saturday. Oklahoma State snuck past BYU with a 40-34 victory. Oklahoma State was down 24-6 with 0:42 left in the second quarter but they still came back for the handy six-point victory.

Ollie Gordon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 166 yards and five touchdowns.

Texas’ win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Oklahoma State, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they’ve won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Texas will be fighting an uphill battle on Saturday as the experts have pegged them as the 14.5-point underdog. This contest will be their 11th straight as the favorites (so far over this stretch they are 5-4-1 against the spread).

Here’s a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday’s game: The Longhorns have been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 188.3 rushing yards per game. However, it’s not like the Cowboys struggle in that department as they’ve been averaging 167.3 per game. It’s looking like Saturday’s game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
