The Chiefs and 49ers will square off for all the marbles this Sunday in Super Bowl 58. Although challenged at times during their postseason runs, both QBs have been instrumental in getting their teams to this point.

Both passing attacks have been solid but not electric, setting up a competitive passing market for the big game. With kickoff getting closer and closer, we’re looking at the best Super Bowl 58 receiving props at the top sportsbooks.

Travis Kelce 80+ receiving yards (+130 on FanDuel)

Travis Kelce is the focal point of the Chiefs’ passing attack. Every team they face is aware of it, and no one has been successful in stopping him and Patrick Mahomes. In three games in the postseason, Kelce has 27 targets for 262 yards and three touchdowns.

The 49ers were middle of the pack in regular and postseason play at stopping the pass, and they are coming off a game where they allowed the Lions’ rookie tight end Sam LaPorta nine catches on 13 targets for 97 yards.

In the regular season, the 49ers were just outside the top 10 in receiving yards allowed to tight ends. Although they have found their way back to the big dance, the 49ers are not nearly as stout defensively as they were in years past, which sets up Kelce well to have a big game this time around.

Brandon Aiyuk UNDER receiving yards

Brandon Aiyuk had a career year in receiving yards this season. Many of which were thanks to explosive passing plays off play action passing. Brock Purdy was fourth in the league this season on yards off play action passing with 969 yards.

In each of Aiyuk’s big games, he accumulated one or multiple big plays off that play selection. However, Purdy likely won’t have the time against the Chiefs.

Kansas City finished the season second in sacks with 57 total, adding six more in the postseason. They did surrender a few big plays to Lamar Jackson in the AFC Conference Championship, but that was thanks to Jackson’s uncanny ability to prolong plays.

Purdy has done well himself this season, but he doesn’t possess Jackon’s running ability (few do). Against QBs who do most of their damage from the pocket, the Chiefs have held both to under 200 yards passing in the postseason.

If that trend continues, it doesn’t bode well for Aiyuk or any 49ers receiver to have a big night.

Rashee Rice 70+ receiving yards (+105 on DraftKings)

Rashee Rice has been the unsung hero of the Chiefs’ passing attack in the postseason. The group entered the playoffs with plenty of questions about their ability to get it done due to leading the league in dropped passes in the regular season. In three playoff games, he is the second most targeted weapon for Patrick Mahomes, although he only has one big game.

The regular season of the Chiefs’ receiving core isn’t lost on the 49ers, who will surely dedicate their focus to Kelce to force the ball elsewhere. In that case, Rice has proven to be a dependable next man up.

What also helps here is that the 49ers’ pass rush has not been getting home in the postseason. With extra time in the pocket, Mahomes should be able to find Rice when needed to keep the chains moving enough to cover this line.

Christian McCaffrey OVER receiving yards

Despite Purdy’s success as of late, Christian McCaffrey is still what makes the 49ers’ offense tick. He is also the perfect answer to the Chiefs’ aggressive defensive playing style. Kansas City finished seventh this season in blitz percentage, which played a big part in their second-highest sack total. San Francisco prefers to get the ball out of Purdy’s hands quickly and into the hands of McCaffrey.

Although the Chiefs will certainly be prepared for it, there aren’t many, if any, better than McCaffrey at making a man miss and breaking a big play. The threat of him coming out of the back field is a full-game concern for the Chiefs, and eventually he is likely to break one or two big ones due to how they match up.
