Steve Nash didn’t choose the hug life. The hug life chose him.
Just after the closing buzzer of the Nets’ 114-108 Game 5 win over the Bucks, Nash found Kevin Durant, who exploded for an all-time playoff performance: KD played all 48 minutes in Brooklyn’s win, going off for 49 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists.
Brooklyn scrapped and clawed back from a 17-point deficit, playing essentially four-man basketball with James Harden still ailing with a hamstring injury. The series now hangs in Brooklyn’s favor, 3-2.

Durant put up a historic night in NBA playoff history: With a triple-double of at least 45-15-10, he joins Oscar Robinson, Charles Barkley and Luka Doncic as the only players in Association record books with a triple-double of that magnitude.
This, of course, is a performance worthy of an embrace, which the Nets head coach gladly delivered after the game. Not only did Nash deliver a good ol’ hug to his superstar player, but Twitter delivered a new meme, too.
