Real Madrid’s demands for Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos revealed

An insight into the kind of fee Real Madrid expect to secure through the sale of Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos has been forthcoming on Monday.

Gunners stint

Spanish international Ceballos is of course currently enjoying his 2nd consecutive campaign on loan in north London.

The 24-year-old initially made the move to the Emirates in the summer of 2019, and, on the back of a somewhat hit-and-miss opening to the season, went on to establish himself as a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s midfield.

Ceballos formed a solid partnership alongside Granit Xhaka in the Gunners’ engine room, proving central to the club’s triumphs in both the FA Cup and Community Shield.

The 2020/21 campaign, however, has proven considerably less fruitful for the Real Madrid loanee.

Ceballos has managed starts in just 16 of Arsenal’s 34 Premier League fixtures to date, amid a combination of fitness problems, fresh competition for places and general struggles for form.

The Spaniard has also been consistently criticised for his costly mistakes in Europe, the latest of which saw Ceballos lucky not to cost the Gunners their shot at Europa League glory after being needlessly dismissed versus Villarreal.

Real’s demands revealed

As such, whilst it had once appeared almost nailed-on that the transfer chiefs in north London would eventually swoop to make Ceballos’ signature permanent, the situation now looks altogether less clear.

Many are of the opinion that it is in fact highly unlikely that Arsenal will opt to splash out on their midfield loanee, with Mikel Arteta and co. reportedly already looking elsewhere for reinforcements in the middle of the park.

As outlined above, though, if those in a position of power at the Emirates do go on to surprise the masses in thrashing out a deal with Real Madrid, an insight into the kind of sum the Premier League giants would be set back has today been forthcoming.

The info comes courtesy of Spanish outlet Defensa Central, who suggest that Los Blancos are eyeing a return somewhere in the region of €25 – 30 million.

Such demands, on the back of a frankly underwhelming season to date, make it even more unlikely that Arsenal will indeed move to make Ceballos’ arrival permanent.

Interestingly, Raphael Varane’s rumoured price-tag is also revealed, with the French international expected to be available for around €60 million.
