The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Philip Tomasino from the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 4th round draft pick in 2027. This draft pick previously belonged to the New York Rangers, and went to Pittsburgh in a deal at the 2024 Trade Deadline.

Tomasino is 23, and was Nashville’s first round draft pick in 2019. Tomasino is on a one year, $825,000 contract, and will become a restricted free agent at the end of this season. Tomasino had a strong rookie season, and racked up 32 points in 76 games. Since then, he has struggled to establish himself at the NHL level, and has bounced back and forth between the NHL and the AHL. He has 71 points (23 goals and 48 assists) in 159 career NHL games.
