One of the top quarterbacks in Oklahoma high school football has made his college decision.

Muskogee’s Jamarian Ficklin announced his commitment to Texas State on Thursday.

Ficklin led Muskogee to the Class 6A-II state title as a junior last season and was named The Oklahoman’s All-State Offensive Player of the Year.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound lefty completed 67.6% of his passes for 3,249 yards and 32 touchdowns while running for 947 yards and 20 scores on 137 carries. He is also Muskogee’s all-time leader in career passing yards (8,492), passing touchdowns (91) and rushing touchdowns (30).

Ficklin announced his top five list last month. He chose Texas State, which is coached by former University of Tulsa quarterback GJ Kinne, over North Texas, Tulsa, UNLV and Utah State.

Ficklin is ranked No. 28 on The Oklahoman’s Super 30 list of the state’s top recruits in the 2025 class.
