Elliotte Friedman made a huge statement in the Recent Hockey Night in Canada edition of 32 thoughts when he said the New Jersey Devils Still May Trade their 2022 1st round, 2nd overall draft pick. I saw recent articles discussing this but I assumed it was from NJ Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald most recent interview he did a couple of weeks ago.
Tom Fitzgerald did say he may trade the pick if its for an impact player that can make the Devils better for this upcoming season. In this video I discuss a couple of players that I would do it for. I mentioned Calgary Flames forward Matthew tkachuk and Winnipeg Jets forward Kyle Connor. Other than that I would draft Slovakian forward Juraj Slafkovsky.
Theres been strong debate that Slafkovsky is pushing his way up the draft positioning to 1st overall with his strong play in the IIHF for team Slovakia. Will his strong play force the Montreal Canadiens to draft him instead of Shane Wright?
