The MLB DFS player pool is loaded with top-end pitching talent on Friday night, as multiple teams send top starters to the bump. Chris Sale, Tarik Skubal and Ranger Suarez are among the elite pitchers taking the mound during the MLB DFS main slate on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel. While figuring out which pitchers to include in MLB DFS lineups is important, it is also critical to consider opposing batters with your MLB DFS strategy. Skubal is facing an Astros lineup that includes Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez and Jeremy Pena.

Alvarez has 14 homers and 35 RBI while batting .293, so he remains one of the most popular MLB DFS picks. However, he is matched up against one of the hottest pitchers in the league, as Skubal is 8-1 with a 1.92 ERA. Before locking in any MLB DFS picks for Friday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won more than $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Thursday, McClure rostered Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber in his MLB DFS player pool on both sites. The result: Schwarber went 3-for-4 with a walk and three RBI, returning 25.5 points on FanDuel and 19 points on DraftKings. Anybody who included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the 2024 MLB season rolling, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks for Friday, June 14. You can head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Friday

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Friday is Braves outfielder Michael Harris at $2,900 on FanDuel and $4,500 on DraftKings. Harris hit .293 with 18 homers, 57 RBI and 20 stolen bases last season, and he has started to return to that form of late. The 23-year-old is riding a four-game hitting streak, scoring two runs to help Atlanta snap a five-game losing skid on Thursday.

Harris ranks second in Atlanta’s star-studded lineup in hits, recording 64 base knocks in his first 259 at-bats. He has eight stolen bases in 12 attempts, putting him on pace for similar numbers as last year. Rays starting pitcher Zack Littell has allowed multiple earned runs in six consecutive starts, including three earned runs in each of his last three appearances.

McClure is stacking Harris with Braves first baseman Matt Olson ($5,500 on DraftKings and $3,200 on FanDuel). Olson went through a brutal stretch from the middle of April to the middle of May, failing to hit his fourth home run of the season until May 10. However, he has hit six homers since then, including a blast against Baltimore on Wednesday.

Olson carries a seven-game hitting streak that includes multiple two-hit performances, so he is starting to find his rhythm this month. He has five homers, 10 RBI and 10 runs scored in 26 career games against the Rays, recording a hit in both appearances against them last season. Olson is still undervalued due to his rough start to the season, making him a strong addition to MLB DFS lineups on Friday. See McClure’s full MLB DFS player pool at SportsLine.
