Iowa State men’s basketball announced that sophomore wing Milan Momcilovic underwent successful hand surgery on Tuesday.
He will not be at Hilton Coliseum for Tuesday’s Cyclones’ Big 12 Conference matchup against UCF, so that he can focus on post-surgery recovery. He is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks.
Momcilovic suffered an injury to his non-shooting hand last week and missed the Cyclones’ games against Kansas and West Virginia.
This season, he is averaging 10.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 46.6% overall.
A sharpshooting threat for Iowa State, the 6-foot-8 wing leads the Cyclones with a team-best 44.3% shooting clip from beyond the arc. He has the second-most 3-pointers (31) on the Cyclones team.
Momcilovic had played in every game for the Cyclones since the start of his freshman season.
The third-ranked Cyclones are 15-2 overall and 5-1 in Big 12 Conference play. They play UCF on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. CT. Afterward, they will head on the road for a 1 p.m. CT Saturday game at Arizona State.
