The Leeds United faithful have taken to social media in their numbers this afternoon, to call for fresh faces at the club before the transfer window slams shut this week.
Bamford cancels out Wood
Marcelo Bielsa’s men were back in action a short time ago.
The Peacocks made the trip to Turf Moor, for a Premier League meeting with struggling Burnley.
After enduring something of a rocky start to the new campaign, Leeds were no doubt confident of getting things firmly back on track on Sunday, up against a Burnley side without a single point to show for their efforts thus far in 2021/22.
When all was said and done in Lancashire, though, Bielsa and co., disappointingly, were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
A hard-fought 90 minutes, during which both sides could and probably should have added further to the scoreline, ultimately played out into a 1-1 stalemate.
Burnley opened the scoring through main man Chris Wood on the hour mark, only for Leeds to make sure of a point late on, courtesy of Patrick Bamford’s close-range finish:
“Just when his team needs him he delivers!” 📦

‘A long, hard season’
Leeds, to their credit, pushed hard for an all-important winner throughout the afternoon’s closing exchanges, but, when it mattered most, came up short.
And, as outlined above, those of a Whites persuasion are evidently of the opinion that their side’s latest shortcomings have come as a result of the dearth of options available to Marcelo Bielsa.
Taking to social media in their numbers both prior to and following the final whistle at Turf Moor, the Leeds faithful made their demands crystal clear, ahead of the transfer window slamming shut in just two days’ time:
we are pathetic, and people seriously think we dont need first team signings lmao, looks like old bamford has returned

Sign some players over the age of 18 please 😭 we have as much attacking threat as a butter knife

Today’s proved we really need signings , we aren’t good enough and our squad depth is terrible

Shocking result, we are in serious trouble with Cheaprizzani doesn’t invest these next few days

That was a shambles and we’re fortunate to have got a point.
Can’t believe we’re gonna risk going through a season without strengthening this squad.
Feels likes it’s gonna be a long battle. Hope we’ve got enough 😬

We were lucky. Today showed us we lack strength and depth. Needed a playmaker in midfield last season and we still need one now.

This results shows how thin our squad is. With players out today our bench looked poor. Need some creative players in next 2 days or it will be a long hard season. #MOT #lufc
