Jurgen Klopp has taken on an ambassadorial role with the LFC Foundation as he seeks to maintain his commitment to the official Liverpool charity following his exit from the club this summer.
Klopp stepped down from his role as manager at the end of last season, marking an emotional end to nine successful years at the helm at Anfield.
During his time in charge, Klopp was a regular advocate for the LFC Foundation and even donated a number of signed items for an auction following his departure from Liverpool, and he has now become the charity’s first honorary ambassador to continue his work.
“The LFC Foundation does an incredible job in the community, both in the Liverpool City Region and beyond,” Klopp said.
“I am really proud to continue my work with them and be named the first ever LFC Foundation honorary ambassador. I look forward to seeing what we can do with that now that I have more time on my hands.”
Matt Parish, LFC Foundation CEO, added: “We are delighted that Jurgen is continuing his support of the Foundation as our first honorary ambassador.
“Having his support has been priceless for us over the years and to have that continue is fantastic and highlights his commitment to the Foundation and the work that we continue to do across the Liverpool City Region.
“Jurgen’s love and passion for the city has been clear throughout his time at the club and it can only benefit us having his support and his voice championing the work that we do moving forward.”
Meanwhile, Klopp has recently rejected the chance to take charge of the United States national team, insisting he wants to stick to his word of taking at least one year away from management.
