Jake Paul will box Mike Perry tonight, as the YouTuber looks to stay sharp ahead of his delayed fight with Mike Tyson.

Paul, 27, was due to box Tyson, 58, this evening, but the heavyweight legend suffered an ulcer flare-up on a flight in May. As a result of that health scare, Paul vs Tyson has been delayed until November, with that fight set to go ahead at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas – as originally planned.

But Paul was not content to wait. Having last fought in March, when he knocked out pro boxer Ryan Bourland in round one, the influencer will stay busy against Perry at the Amalie Arena in Florida.

“Platinum” Perry, 32, is a former UFC star who has excelled in bare-knuckle boxing, leading some fans to believe that Paul’s bid to ‘stay sharp’ is a risky one. That said, Paul’s record against UFC alumni is immaculate; the American has knocked out Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren, and he holds points wins over Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz.

Follow live updates from Jake Paul vs Mike Perry, below. The fight will air live on DAZN pay-per-view, and a subscription to the streaming service is available here.

Jake Paul vs Mike Perry LIVE: Conor McGregor mocks Paul and makes fight prediction

03:30 , Alex Pattle

Conor McGregor has said he is “rooting for” Perry when the former UFC star boxes Paul tonight, while labelling the latter a “little dweeb”.

YouTuber Paul has beaten several ex-UFC fighters while compiling a 9-1 record as a professional boxer, having knocked out Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren, and having outpointed Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva.

Since leaving the UFC in 2021, Perry has excelled in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), in which McGregor recently bought a stake.

And speaking at a BKFC press conference on Thursday (18 July), McGregor said: “[You can] make a new name for yourself [here]. Look at what has happened to Michael Perry, one of our big stars here – the ‘King of Violence’, he titles himself.

“He’s had such a rise in the sport, now he’s up against a little dweeb of a thing in a fight this weekend, [and] we’re all rooting for him.”

Jake Paul vs Mike Perry LIVE: Mike Tyson reveals real reason behind Paul fight

When asked by Esquire about his motivation for fighting Paul later this year, Tyson turned to his team and asked: “Can I be honest?” The former world champion then told his interviewer: “I don’t think he can hurt me.

“[And] I’m a glory junkie. I love people thinking about me all day. I’d rather live a short life of glory than a long life of obscurity. It’s just who I am.

“This is all I started fighting for: to get all this f***ing status. I’m going to be chasing it for the rest of my life, I know that. I’m never going to get what I want, because I’m one of those gluttons for pain. I can never get enough.”

As mentioned below, Serrano will fight tonight, taking on Stevie Morgan.

While Paul was due to box Tyson tonight, Serrano was set for a rematch with Katie Taylor – two years after losing a narrow decision to the Irishwoman in the biggest women’s fight of all time.

Like Paul vs Tyson, Serrano vs Taylor 2 has been delayed until 15 November. In the meantime, Serrano will stay busy against Morgan.

Jake Paul vs Mike Perry LIVE: Paul’s last fight revisited

02:15 , Alex Pattle

Paul vs Bourland was set to be followed by a main event between Amanda Serrano and Nina Meinke, but the unified featherweight title fight was cancelled in a bizarre scene.

After Paul stopped Bourland, Meinke entered the ring in her fight gear, while Serrano arrived in sunglasses and a hoodie. A ring announcer revealed that the main event had been cancelled, and that the crowd would receive 100 per cent refunds. Champion Serrano, 35, said she had not been cleared to compete by doctors, owing to an eye injury.

“I came ready to fight, 100 per cent, I came to show my best and put on a great fight, but the doctor didn’t clear me – due to something to do with my eye,” said the tearful Puerto Rican.

“I wanted to fight in front of my people. I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart […] I can barely see out of my eye.”

Paul, who promotes Serrano, added: “Amanda came to fight, put in a hard camp [but] she was failing some eye tests. Her cornea is exposed, you can’t risk losing your eyesight forever. I know she’s a warrior. This happened very last minute.”

Serrano, who has shared fight cards with Paul numerous times, is set to compete tonight as well; here’s hoping for no complications!

Jake Paul vs Mike Perry LIVE: Paul’s last fight revisited

01:50 , Alex Pattle

In his most recent fight, in March, Paul knocked out pro boxer Ryan Bourland in the first round.

Paul quickly split the 35-year-old’s guard with repeated jabs, before adding right hands to the body and head to wobble Bourland against the ropes.

Bourland, who entered Puerto Rico with a 17-2 pro record, scrambled around in a bid to recover, but he was eventually overwhelmed in the corner.

As Paul poured on punches, Bourland fell to his knees, and the referee stepped in to wave off the cruiserweight bout. With that, YouTube star Paul moved to 9-1 as a pro.

The result in San Juan marked his second straight win against a pro boxer, with the “Problem Child” having knocked out Andre August in round one in December. Before facing Paul, Bourland had not fought since September 2022.
