The Washington Commanders didn’t have the services of top running back Brian Robinson last week after he was ruled out ahead of the Week 6 game due to a knee injury, marking the first contest he has missed this season.

In his stead, the Commanders’ rushing attack struggled. Robinson’s replacement, fellow running back Austin Ekeler, tallied just 21 yards on the ground, and the Commanders had just 52 in total on 18 carries, most of which came from star quarterback Jayden Daniels.

It’s safe to say the Commanders are hoping Robinson gets back this week, but will he? Here’s the latest injury update on the Washington running back.

Is Brian Robinson playing today?

Robinson turned in three limited practices this week before drawing a questionable tag, so his status remained up in the air on Friday and for nearly all of Saturday.

However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Saturday night that Robinson is expected to play in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers.

The fact that Robinson only posted limited practices this week suggests he might not be fully healthy, which leaves a concern for fantasy football owners that Robinson may not get a full workload.

But there has been no confirmation that is the case, so he should be in lineups after ranking as RB16 overall in fantasy points per game this season. Adding to that, no team in the NFL has surrendered more fantasy points to running backs this season than the lowly Panthers.

The concern, though, is that Washington might blow the Panthers out, which could lead to the Commanders opting to give a potentially banged-up Robinson less work should he not be needed. But that’s not enough to scare us off starting him.
