As a result of the Alabama Crimson Tide’s blowout 42-13 road victory over the LSU Tigers on Saturday night in Baton Rouge, the program has already seen big movement Sunday in both the AP and Coaches Polls.
Rising in both, the same can also be said for ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) as well, as the Crimson Tide are now considered the nation’s top team according to the stat.
After their impressive road win at LSU, Alabama rose two spots in the latest update of ESPN’s FPI, jumping to No. 1 overall from their previous No. 3 ranking. The Crimson Tide had previously sat at No. 3 for a few weeks, and jumped both the Texas Longhorns and Ohio State Buckeyes for No. 1.
Now sitting at 7-2 overall, ESPN FPI also now gives Alabama a 55% chance to win out across the remainder of their regular season schedule. Alabama also is given a 31% chance to win the SEC, as well as 75.6% to make the College Football Playoff, 25.1% to make the national championship game, and 15.5% to win it all exiting Week 11.
As a result of their loss to Alabama, LSU also dropped four spots to No. 16.
