MLS outfit DC United have added a new name into the fold at Audi Field after the club acquired Nashville midfielder Randall Leal.

Per an official announcement from the club on socials, the 27-year-old Costa Rican international was claimed via Major League Soccer’s waiver protocol.

Leal will be under contract in the capital for the 2025 season, while they maintain an option on the player for 2026.

D.C. United General Manager and Chief Soccer Officer Ally Mackay said of Leal ”Randall is a talented midfielder who has experience in the league with Nashville as well as at the international level with Costa Rica.”

“He’s a versatile player who can play in a variety of positions in the midfield and has a good passing range along with an eye for goal. We believe he fits our style of play and are excited to continue to bolster our roster before the start of the MLS season.”

Leal joins a side that was on the cusp of securing post-season soccer in 2024.
