Pat McAfee’s exciting side Concafa SC has electrified crowds at the second iteration of The Soccer Tournament in Cary, NC this year, and they face their toughest test yet as they meet unbeaten Hoosier Army in 2024’s Round of 16.

McAfee himself will not be playing a further part in the tournament, as he sustained a hip flexor injury in their group stage finale against JJ Watt’s side Burnley FC. McAfee claims he may have torn the muscle while attempting to deliver a free-kick that missed horribly wide.

Instead, the former NFL punter turned radio host will continue coaching from the sidelines as he did in the Round of 16 where Concafa came from behind to beat Tenfifteen 2-1 in a thrilling Target Score Time finish.

Hoosier Army, a team largely comprised of Indiana University former players, have won all four of their matches thus far, sweeping Group K before topping Freedom United 2-0 in their first Round of 16 matchup. The winner came on a goal from former Minnesota United player Tanner Thompson.

1st min: Chance, Hoosier Army! HOOSIER ARMY HAVE HIT THE POST AGAIN!! What is going on???

End of Regulation: Concafa SC 0-0 Hoosier Army

Concafa SC were the better first-half side by a slim margin, but the script was flipped on its head for the second half as Hoosier Army were by FAR the more dangerous team. Yet here we sit without a goal through 40 minutes, meaning it will go to sudden death. Who will advance to the final four of the men’s bracket and remain alive with a shot at $1 million?

37th min: Chance, Hoosier Army! How does Hoosier Army not score?!? Three consecutive shots on frame, but the first hits the woodwork, the second is brilliantly saved, and the third crashes into the crossbar!

31st min: Former USMNT defender Geoff Cameron makes a critical block! Hoosier Army feel on the verge of scoring as they have gained full control of the match and pummeling the Concafa net!

HALFTIME: Concafa SC 0-0 Hoosier Army

Concafa SC slowly built themselves into the match, and commanded most of the possession, but overall both defenses remained largely in control of the match.

11th min: Zat Knight nearly scores from his own third! He almost catches the Hoosier Army goalkeeper way off his line but it goes just wide!
