Christine Sinclair will play her final match for Canada against a fired-up Australia at BC Place in Vancouver on Tuesday night (Wednesday AEDT).

The venue has been renamed CS Place in honour of Sinclair, who is the all-time leading international goalscorer with 190 goals.

After a 5-0 drubbing in the first friendly, the Matildas will be keen to strike back with a likely experienced line-up to be named by coach Tony Gustavsson.

Canada vs Australia live updates, highlights, commentary from friendly

13th min: From the Canada, the Matildas counter-attack with pace. Carpenter is played through, she could have gone dowm, she gets the cutback but Canada scramble clear just as Van Egmond was arriving. Great play from Australia.

12th min: Canada have their first dangerous attack. Prince is clear down the right channel but is corralled by Kennedy, who eventually concedes a corner.

9th min: Fowler plays Catley through to the left byline but the cross toward Van Egmond is cleared. Another dangerous foray by Australia.

7th min: SHOT AUSTRALIA

Raso is sprung clear down the right channel. Under pressure, she tries a shot on goal from just inside the box but it’s into the side-netting. Promising start by Australia.

5th min: Australia with all the early possession. A much different start to Canada’s dominance in the first friendly. 

2nd min: Cagey opening. Canada don’t appear to be pressing as high as they did against the weakened Matildas lineup.

30min before kickoff: It’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius) at BC Place tonight with a low chance of light rain but plenty of cloud.

55min before kickoff: Christine Sinclair starts for Canada in her final international. Adriana Leon is a substitute.

1 hour before kickoff: Tony Gustavsson has picked a full-strength lineup for the Matildas after their inexperienced team got battered in the first friendly.

2 hours before kickoff: Welcome to BC Place in Vancouver for tonight’s friendly match between Canada and Australia. The stadium has been renamed CS Place tonight in honour of Christine Sinclair’s final match. Kickoff will be at 7pm (local), 2pm (AEDT).

After picking an experimental XI that was thrashed 5-0 Canada in the first friendly on Friday night (Saturday AEDT), expect Tony Gustavsson to pick a strong Matildas XI featuring players that had significant roles in the Women’s World Cup.

Sam Kerr and Mackenzie Arnold were injuried prior to the international window and aren’t in the Matildas squad, as is Charlotte Grant and Holly McNamara.
