West Indies have brought in Obed McCoy for the injured Fidel Edwards

Australia won the toss and decided to bat against West Indies

Australia have rung the changes and will also take a different approach as they aim to keep the series alive in St Lucia.

Alex Carey and Ashton Turner come into a reshaped middle order at the expense of Josh Philippe and Ben McDemott – Carey, who will play as a specialist batter, giving the line-up another left hander – while fast bowler Riley Meredith strengthens the pace department at the expense of Ashton Agar.

Aaron Finch confirmed that there were injury issues with McDermott and Agar.

This match will be played on a fresh pitch and when the coin again fell Finch’s way he opted to bat first after two failed run chases over the weekend. Senior assistant coach Andrew McDonald admitted yesterday that conditions had been different to what they expected before the tour.

West Indies have made one change with left-armer Obed McCoy, who was Player of the Match in the first game, replacing the injured Fidel Edwards. Captain Kieron Pollard remains sidelined.

West Indies 1 Lendl Simmons, 2 Andre Fletcher, 3 Chris Gayle, 4 Shimron Hetmyer, 5 Dwayne Bravo, 6 Andre Russell, 7 Nicholas Pooran (capt & wk), 8 Fabian Allen, 9 Hayden Walsh Jr, 10 Obed McCoy, 11 Sheldon Cottrell

Australia 1 Aaron Finch, 2 Matthew Wade (wk), 3 Mitchell Marsh, 4 Moises Henriques, 5 Alex Carey, 6 Ashton Turner, 7 Dan Christian, 8 Mitchell Starc, 9 Adam Zampa, 10 Riley Meredith, 11 Josh Hazlewood
