This year, the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes (G1) will not have a horse going for the Triple Crown, with Medina Spirit winning the Kentucky Derby and Rombauer winning the Preakness Stakes. Several of the Kentucky Derby horses who skipped the Preakness will be back plus there are always a few new shooters ready to try their luck. The post position draw for the 153rd Belmont Stakes will be held on Tuesday June 1st at Belmont Park.

Live television coverage will be provided from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on NBC Sports Network and 5:00-7:00 p.m. on NBC, with post time for the Belmont Stakes scheduled for 6:37 p.m. All times are Eastern time zone.

  • Black-Eyed Susan Day Results – Army Wife drew off to win the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes (G2) by 2 3/4 lengths at Pimlico on Friday while favorite Beautiful Gift finished 7th. There were 5 other stakes on the card including the Pimlico Special (G3) won by Last Judgment, the Allaire Dupont Distaff (G3) won by Spice is Nice, and the Miss Preakness Stakes (G3) won by Red Ghost.
  • Medina Spirit best in the 2021 Kentucky Derby (G1) – Saturday at Churchill Downs, Medina Spirit went to the front early and held on by a half length to win the Kentucky Derby (G1) over Mandaloun and Hot Rod Charlie. Favorite Essential Quality was bumped at the start but got up for fourth. This makes trainer Bob Baffert the all-time top Derby trainer with 7 wins total. Get the results, chart, and photos here.
  • Malathaat wins the 2021 Kentucky Oaks (G1) – Favorite Malathaat broke poorly but got the lead in the stretch and held on to win the Kentucky Oaks (G1) by neck at Churchill Downs on Friday. Search Results was second and Will’s Secret was third. Get the results, chart, and photos here.
