A member of the ‘Law Firm’ is returning to Eugene.

According to a report from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, the Oregon Ducks are hiring former North Texas Mean Green offensive line coach Cutter Leftwich, adding him to the OL coaching staff in Eugene. Leftwich is familiar with the Ducks, having coached alongside A’lique Terry and Mike Cavanaugh as recently as 2023 before departing for Denton to take over as the OL coach for North Texas.

This addition makes sense for Oregon, who saw Cavanaugh leave to take over as the new OL coach for the Oregon State Beavers earlier this offseason. Cavanaugh was officially announced in that position on Tuesday afternoon.

In his one season at North Texas, Leftwich helped the Mean Green offense evelate their play, finishing third in the country in total offense, fourth in passing offense, and 23rd in scoring offense. Before that, Leftwich was part of the staff that helped Oregon be named a finalist for the Joe Moore Award in 2023, given to the best offensive line in the nation.
