San Diego FC winger Anders Dreyer was named the MLS player of the matchday for the league’s opening weekend.

The former Anderlecht man opened his and the club’s account with a brace against reigning champions LA Galaxy in a 2-0 road win over the weekend.

In doing so, Dreyer became the first player from an expansion club to be named MLS Player of the Matchday in their inaugural since Fredy Montero for Seattle Sounders in 2009.

Remember the name, folks!
