Atlanta United reportedly launch big-money bid for Arthur Cabral

Atlanta United’s ambitious forward search this offseason has experienced another twist as the Five Stripes have reportedly submitted a big-money bid for Benfica striker Arthur Cabral.

The 26-year-old has bagged 17 goals and four assists in 67 games with the Portuguese giants after a lucrative spell with Swiss club Basel, where he pulled in 82 goal contributions in 106 matches.

According to MLS insider Tom Bogert, Atlanta United have submitted a bid of up to $18 million for the Brazilian.

The MLS side had been working a record-deal for Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath, but with negotiations stalling the club have seemingly moved on to other targets.

Meanwhile, Atlanta are also said to be ‘finalizing a deal’ to bring back club legend Miguel Almirón from Newcastle United.
