IU football‘s staff is cooking in the transfer portal.

On Saturday, the Hoosiers landed a commitment from Michigan wide receiver Tyler Morris. Morris is the fourth transfer pledge since Friday, joining OL Kahlil Benson (Colorado), QB Grant Wilson (Old Dominion) and OL Zen Michalski (Ohio State) in the spree.

How IU landed one of portal’s top QBs: ‘Indiana was the best place for me.’

In three seasons in Ann Arbor, Morris caught 39 passes for 470 yards and three touchdowns. In Michigan’s national championship 2023 season, Morris caught four passes for 54 yards in a win over Indiana, and caught a touchdown in the Wolverines’ CFP semifinal win over Alabama. He had 23 catches for 248 yards this past season.

A four-star prospect coming out of Bolingbrook, Ill., the 5-11 Morris was ranked the No. 133 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite and the 22nd-best WR in the 2022 class.

Morris is the second wide receiver addition out of the portal, joining Appalachian State’s Makai Jackson. IU needs to replace Miles Cross, Myles Price and Ke’Shawn Williams off last year’s team. The Hoosiers return primary targets Elijah Sarratt and Omar Cooper, and E.J. Williams, who entered the portal before deciding to return to Bloomington.
