Highland Park takes on Frisco Reedy in the 5A Division I regional semifinals.

ABOUT HIGHLAND PARK (11-1)

The Scots, one of the more tradition-rich programs in Texas, dropped back down to 5A this season after having played in 6A the previous two seasons.

Highland Park started out the season 3-0 before falling to Cherry Creek, Colorado. But the Scots have reeled off eight straight wins since then.

In their first two playoff games, the Scots have posted convincing wins, 48-0 against Leander Rouse in the bi-district round and then a 38-10 win against Frisco Wakeland last week in the area round.

ABOUT FRISCO REEDY (10-2)

Last week, Reedy trailed 45-7 late in the first half against Georgetown, and also trailed 45-21 at halftime. But the second half belonged to the Lions, as they outscored Georgetown, 28-0, to post a stirring 49-45 comeback win.

Reedy’s lone two losses came to a pair of Frisco schools, Emerson and Lone Star, the latter coming in the regular-season finale. The Lions then opened the postseason with a 55-16 win against Carrollton Creekview in the bi-district round.
